Whether we’re streamlining production to minimise waste or choosing supply chain partners who care about environmental responsibility as much as us, we’re always looking for ways to transform our business, from the inside out.
We believe in the triple bottom line, where people, profit and the planet co-exist equally.
All Speedwrap products, including the award-winning Speedwrap Pro Dispenser, are responsibly made in our Bristol HQ.
This helps us reduce our carbon footprint, support British jobs and maintain strict health and safety standards – ensuring quality and accountability at every step.
Shifting production of our signature Speedwrap Pro Dispenser to the UK saves 16.2 tonnes of CO2 in transportation emissions every year.
In October 2024, Prowrap made the switch to 97% renewable electricity.
Our electricity now produces just 2% of the CO2 produced by standard UK electricity.
Previously, the electricity used at Prowrap HQ emitted around 6.98 tonnes of CO2 per month. Now, we are averaging just 0.22 tonnes of CO2 per month – a massive 97% reduction.
Recognised in March 2025 by both FoodBev and the Foodservice Packaging Association, Speedwrap Pro leads in sustainability and innovation. Made in the UK with our injection moulding partner in Brighton, it features BioCote® antimicrobial protection and a fully recyclable refill system, thanks to the removal of the plastic core adaptor.
If just one large catering business switched to the Speedwrap Pro, the plastic adaptors saved each year would stack higher than the Eiffel Tower!
Launched in 2024, we offer a UK industry-leading recycling scheme for dispensers. We take unwanted dispensers of any make or model – not only our own – and recycle as much of the dispenser as possible. We then work with our UK recycling partner to reuse parts across the Prowrap range.
Our Ecocling™ film is a high-performance, PVC-free, recyclable cling film, trusted for its durability and used at COP26.
Our aluminium foil is 100% recyclable, with the Infinity Foil roll proudly made from recycled content.
Our baking parchment is premium, biodegradable, and compostable, offering future-proof options for every kitchen.
What’s more, all our packaging is now made from 100% recyclable corrugated cardboard and printed with water-based inks, ensuring they can be easily recycled in local streams.
We’ve achieved our goal of sending zero waste materials to landfill. At our factory, we recycle cardboard, parchment, cores, aluminium foil and more. Our polyethylene (PE) cling film is reprocessed into plastic pellets for new products like refuse sacks and pallet wrap.
In 2024, we sent 15,283kg of waste cling film to our recycling partner – up 189% since 2018.
We choose suppliers aligned with our environmental goals to reduce our Scope 3 emissions and decarbonise our supply chain.
For example, Prowrap’s baking parchment supply chain reduced emissions by 26% between 2020 and 2023, and our cling film supply chain has cut emissions by 24% since 2019.
We’re committed to continuous improvement and always seeking sustainable partnerships to further reduce our environmental impact.
Prowrap has recently become a member of the UN Global Compact. Our Global Compact membership will help us consolidate our existing sustainability progress and work towards ambitious further goals in the future.
We support sustainable forest management by sourcing FSC-certified baking parchment where possible. As of 2025, approximately 78% of our parchment is FSC-certified (FSC®-C211011), and we aim for full certification across all relevant Prowrap products.
As a proud member of Alupro, Prowrap stays at the forefront of aluminium recycling. With their support, we’re working towards recycling all of our production waste foil and maximising sustainability across our supply chain.
As proud members of Sedex, we ensure our global supply chains are responsible, sustainable and ethical.
